Precious Memories

Hello again welcome and a special hello to my
"Craft and Coffee" Ladies .It's Lovely to see you here.
As promised this morning I'm posting pictures of my little box.
I enjoyed making this so much. I hope you will all have a go.

I started with this little chipboard box that I bought at
"The works" It's a shop within Heighley gate Garden Centre.

They are sold as boxes but to me it said book
and I knew exactly what I would do with it.

I started by painting all the edges and the chipboard frame
with white acrylic paint ( all I had at the time )
I stamped the frame all over with a text stamp using Victorian velvet
distress ink the same ink was used around the edges of the papers
which I downloaded and resized to fit.
The roses on the front are simple rolled roses and the
hot glue gun did a bit of overtime ( love that gun )
The lace and pearl rope around the sides were easy to apply using hot glue.
I do find it easier and safer to keep lolly/ cocktail sticks
to hand to help push things into place when I'm using hot glue
(found out the hard way hot glue really is HOT )
A Gold dauber was the finishing touch around all the edges.

The bits are all from my stash and I have to say Thank You to Astrid
for the gorgeous papers she generously posts on her blog http://astridsartisticefforts.blogspot.com/
Your papers are always a pleasure to work with Astrid Thank You.

Inside showing drawer and mini book
The photograph on the front is my Mother in 1942
and inside my father in 1939
The book will hold some of my special thoughts.

Hope you enjoyed my little book box.
hugs to all who need them

Brenda

Black and White

Hello again..well not a nice day here and rather disapointing as I was looking forward to seeing my Grandaughter at her first sports day at school. She's just a tiny at nursery and they have been practicing running all week hopefuly the sun will shine next week for them.

I love black and white cards always think you cannot go far wrong. My friends husband always asks me to make special cards for his wife and as I knew he was buying her earrings I made a little matching bag.

The card is 8x8 and the little bag is 4" high I have to say the card was not my original idea
I have to thank Sandra a great designer and lovely friend.

Craft Morning

Another lovely craft morning at our local garden centre.
We had a nice morning playing. Two of the ladies brought in
their big shot and dies. somone else had some great new stamps
and another showed us how to make a gorgeous little
origami basket.
The ladies enjoyed exchanging the milk cartons they made
for our mingle (I left mine on my desk at home )
and was disapointed as there were some great ideas in the exchange

THANK YOU LADIES.

Craft Morning

Hello Again

Today was my craft morning at my local garden centre and look

Not a new idea I know and I was pleased that most of the ladies
had not made  these little milk cartons before.
They found them easy to make and everyone one of the 10 were
 so different.
We meet once a fortnight and sometimes have a "mingle" so decided
that when we meet in a fortnight we will all make and decorate
a milk  carton to exchange....
Should be fun I already have an idea ....
but should tell you my ideas sometimes stay just ideas Ha ha

Thanks for stopping by
Hugs to all who need them Brenda

A stitch in time

Well thats what my Granny always said.

Hope you like this card I made using a die from Die-namics
found one here if you want to look

The fold is not as difficult as it may appear and is really just a half of
a tri-shutter card.

thanks for looking have a nice day

Anyone for cheese ?

This is my altered cheese box. I was given the die-cut and asked to incorporate it into a project to be exchanged at my craft group. It was fun to do. I used the box to cut papers to size and inked them using Victorian velvet distress inks. The stamps I used on the  top of the box are Design Objectives urban stamps. The black bicycle die cut I covered with a clear embossing pad and clear embossing powder when it was heated it gave the impression of black metal. The stamped images were a gift and I finished it off with paper flowers and a little lace to give it a softer look. Hope you will give this a try it's a real fun project than can be adapted to suit any occasion.
thanks for looking  Brenda
